Branding, Logo Design
Glory Bell Church
2018
There are a lot of ideas out there about what branding is. Is it a logo, a slogan, the way we communicate, our colors, our story? Yes. Branding is how you make yourself known to the public by telling your story effectively and differentiating yourself visually. It involves more than "just a logo." The challenge for Pastors Chuck and Ashley Martin was to plant a church in Waco that points the community to Jesus. We helped with the visual identity.
If you don't already know, Waco is the home of Chip and Joanna Gaines and Baylor University. And, it's in the middle of Texas. So there was a great history that we were able to build on as we started to dig into what the brand could look like.
We started by designing a series of logo marks that worked in unison with one another. Multiple logos don't always work for every brand, but what we found for Glory Bell is that the various lockups immediately translated to options for church merch, signage, and the physical building. After the initial design phase for Glory Bell Church, we created additional logos for ministries within the church to supplement the main brand.
Throughout the creative process, Chuck and Ashley trusted us. Trust is one of the most powerful tools for creatives — it's permission to do you best work. We're thankful to be part of the branding process at Glory Bell.
